How to Live Green

As the CEO of a company that champions living green, I believe that it is also my responsibility to educate you on how to identify green products.

Confused by the multitude of “green” products available today? Here is a list of important industry criteria/questions to ask when evaluating the environmental integrity and sustainability of all green products.

    The Source or Resources Used

  • Where does it come from?
  • What material is it made out of?
  • Is it primarily organic or recycled material?

The Manufacturing Process

  • How is it made?
  • Are laborers receiving a fair wage?
  • What is the environmental impact?

Transportation

  • Is the product locally produced?
  • How far is the product traveling to reach you?
  • How much fuel is being used to get from point A to point B?

Health and Environmental Impact

  • How does a product affect the health of your home environment, i.e. air quality?
  • How does the product affect the health of our planet and the quality of life for future generations?

Product Lifecycle

  • What is the lifespan of the product?
  • Can it be reused consistently?
  • Can the product be recycled?
Ask these questions, and hopefully, you will also find the green product that is suitable for your home.

Warm regards,

Marina Idris
